"Sevadham" gave a new dimension to a self-employed life. Success story of Vinay Bhat of Sirsi
Vinay Bhat, originally from Devate Mane village in Sirsi Taluk, was born on June 4, 1985, as the son of late Parameshwara M. Bhat and Mrs. Gauri P. Bhat. After completing his primary education in upper Onikeri, he received his Prathama Kavya Sahitya education at Lakshmi Narasimha Pathashala Salkani, his PUC at Bhanumaiah College, and his B.com at Mahajana College, Mysore. After completing his education, he worked in a call center in Bengaluru for 2 years and then began continuing his work as a priest in Bengaluru. Alongside this, he started a function hall in his hometown to host meetings and ceremonies, entrusting its management to acquaintances.
While making a living through his profession, on August 1, 2018, as Vinay was returning home after finishing his routine priestly duties in Bengaluru, an unforgettable incident occurred in his life. Around 8:30 PM after finishing a pooja, while riding his bike, it skidded and he fell into a pit. This accident changed the direction of his life entirely. He was immediately taken to a government hospital in Bengaluru. For further advanced treatment, he was brought to K.S. Hegde Hospital in Mangaluru. During treatment at the hospital, due to the accident, one of his legs was crushed; since further treatment was not possible, he faced a situation where his leg had to be amputated. Along with this, he also suffered a spinal cord injury. Not even knowing what a spinal cord injury was or how it affects one, the hospital staff slowly explained his condition to Vinay. They made him realize that he would no longer be able to walk and could only move around using a wheelchair. He stayed in the hospital and received treatment for 3 months. After receiving treatment, he spent his life confined to his bed for 5 years. This tragedy at such a young age consumed his mind completely. Vinay Bhat, who had given up hope thinking he couldn't do anything anymore and that his life was over, was introduced to "Sevadham."
Through Mr. Dinesh Hegde of Heggadekatti, who had also suffered a spinal cord injury, he got introduced to Sevadham and visited it. After undergoing rehabilitation, he learned how to heal pressure sores and how to shift from a wheelchair, slowly recovering. Vinay Bhat, who knew nothing about spinal cord injuries, slowly started learning about everything. "If it weren't for Sevadham, I wouldn't have been able to recover this much and be like this. Before receiving rehabilitation, I couldn't do my own work. But now, I am happy to say I have recovered enough to do my work," he expressed. After receiving rehabilitation at Sevadham, he restarted the function hall business he had previously been doing in Devatemane. Taking event contracts for the hall, managing all arrangements systematically, and moving forward, he is earning about Rs. 15,000/- per month, living a self-reliant life and setting an inspiring example for all. ವಿನಯ ಭಟ್ರವರು ಮೂಲತಃ ಶಿರಸಿ ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ದೇವತೆ ಮನೆ ಗ್ರಾಮದ ನಿವಾಸಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, 4 ಜೂನ್ 1985 ರಲ್ಲಿ ದಿ. ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರ ಎಂ. ಭಟ್ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಗೌರಿ ಪಿ. ಭಟ್ ದಂಪತಿಯ ಪುತ್ರರಾಗಿ ಜನಿಸಿದರು. ಮೇಲಿನ ಒನಿಕೇರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ತದನಂತರ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀನರಸಿಂಹ ಪಾಠಶಾಲಾ ಸಾಲ್ಕಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಥಮ ಕಾವ್ಯಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣವನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಭನುಮಯ್ಯ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪಿಯುಸಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದು ಮೈಸೂರಿನ ಮಹಾಜನ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನಲ್ಲಿ B.com ಶಿಕ್ಷಣವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡರು. ವಿದ್ಯಾಭ್ಯಾಸವನ್ನು ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಳಿಸಿದ ನಂತರ 2 ವರ್ಷ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಲ್ ಸೆಂಟರ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ತದನಂತರ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಪುರೋಹಿತರಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ಮುಂದುವರಿಸಲು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದರು. ಅದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಊರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಭೆ ಸಮಾರಂಭವನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಲು ಸಭಾಂಗಣವೊಂದನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿ ಅದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಪರಿಚಯದವರಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರು.
ತನ್ನ ವೃತ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಜೀವನವನ್ನು ಸಾಗಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ವಿನಯ ಭಟ್ 1 ಆಗಸ್ಟ್ 2018 ರಂದು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಎಂದಿನಂತೆ ಪುರೋಹಿತ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ಮುಗಿಸಿ ಮನೆಗೆ ವಾಪಾಸಾಗುವ ವೇಳೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಿನಯ್ ಅವರ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಮರೆಯಲಾಗದ ಘಟನೆ ನಡೆದುಹೋಯಿತು. ಪೂಜೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಗಿಸಿ ಸರಿಸುಮಾರು ರಾತ್ರಿ 8:30 ರ ವೇಳೆಗೆ ಬೈಕ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಸ್ಕಿಡ್ ಆಗಿ ಹೊಂಡಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿದ್ದು ಕೆಳಕ್ಕೆಬಿದ್ದರು. ಈ ಆಕ್ಸಿಡೆಂಟ್ ಅವರ ಜೀವನದ ದಿಕ್ಕನ್ನೇ ಬದಲಾಯಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿತು. ತಕ್ಷಣ ಅವರನ್ನು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸರಕಾರಿ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದರು. ಮುಂದಿನ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಗಾಗಿ ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಕೆ.ಎಸ್. ಹೆಗ್ಡೆ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗೆ ಬಂದರು. ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಪಡೆದ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಕ್ಸಿಡೆಂಟ್ ನಿಂದ ಅವರ ಒಂದು ಕಾಲು ಜಜ್ಜಿಹೋಗಿತ್ತು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗದೆ ಕಾಲನ್ನು ತುಂಡರಿಸುವ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯೂ ಎದುರಾಯಿತು ಇದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಅವರು ಬೆನ್ನುಹುರಿ ಅಪಘಾತಕ್ಕೂ ಒಳಗಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಬೆನ್ನುಹುರಿ ಅಪಘಾತ ಎಂದರೆ ಏನು? ಅದು ಯಾವ ರೀತಿ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ಬೀಳುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂಬ ವಿಷಯವೂ ತಿಳಿಯದ ವಿನಯ್ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪಸ್ವಲ್ಪವಾಗಿ ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. ಇನ್ನು ಮುಂದೆ ನಡೆದಾಡಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ ಹಾಗೂ ಗಾಲಿಖುರ್ಚಿಯ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಮಾತ್ರ ಚಲಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವೆಂದು ಮನವರಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಇದ್ದು 3 ತಿಂಗಳ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡರು. ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆದ ನಂತರ 5 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಮಲಗಿದಲ್ಲೇ ತನ್ನ ಜೀವನವನ್ನು ಹಾಸಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲೇ ಕಳೆದರು. ಎಳೆಯ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲೇ ಆದಂತಹ ಈ ದುರ್ಘಟನೆ ಅವರ ಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನೇ ಆವರಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿತ್ತು. ಇನ್ನು ನನ್ನಿಂದ ಏನೂ ಮಾಡಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗದು ನನ್ನ ಜೀವನ ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಮುಗಿದು ಹೋಯಿತು ಎಂದು ಆಸೆಯನ್ನೇ ಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದ ವಿನಯ್ ಭಟ್ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಪರಿಚಯವಾದದ್ದು "ಸೇವಾಧಾಮ."
ಹೆಗ್ಗಡೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿಯ ಬೆನ್ನುಹುರಿ ಅಪಘಾತಕ್ಕೊಳಗಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ದಿನೇಶ್ ಹೆಗ್ಗಡೆಯವರ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಸೇವಾಧಾಮದ ಪರಿಚಯ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿದರು. ನಂತರ ಪುನಶ್ಚೇತನವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಒತ್ತಡಗಾಯವನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ನಿವಾರಣೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು, ವೀಲ್ ಚೇರ್ ನಿಂದ ಹೇಗೆ ಶಿಫ್ಟ್ ಆಗೋದು ಎಂಬುದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಚೇತರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದರು. ಬೆನ್ನುಹುರಿ ಅಪಘಾತದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಏನು ತಿಳಿಯದ ವಿನಯ್ ಭಟ್ರವರು ನಿಧಾನವಾಗಿ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಿಷಯದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದರು. ಸೇವಾಧಾಮ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಇರ್ತಿದ್ರೆ ನಾನು ಇಷ್ಟು ಚೇತರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೀಗೆ ಇರಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವೇ ಆಗುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಪುನಶ್ಚೇತನವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಮೊದಲು ನನ್ನ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ನಾನು ಮಾಡಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ಇವಾಗ ನನ್ನ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ನಾನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಷ್ಟು ಚೇತರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಎಂದು ಸಂತೋಷವನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು. ಸೇವಾಧಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಪುನಶ್ಚೇತನವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡ ನಂತರ ದೇವತೆಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಂಚೆಯಿಂದಲೂ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದಂತಹ ಸಭಾಂಗಣದ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದರು. ಸಮಾರಂಭದ ವೇಳೆ ಸಭಾಂಗಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಂಟ್ರಾಕ್ಟ್ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ಅಚ್ಚುಕಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಡುತ್ತಾ ಮುನ್ನಡೆಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾ ತಿಂಗಳಿಗೆ ರೂ. 15,000/- ದಷ್ಟು ಸಂಪಾದನೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಸ್ವಾವಲಂಬಿ ಜೀವನ ಸಾಗಿಸಿ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಸ್ಪೂರ್ತಿಯಾಗುವಂತೆ ಬದುಕು ರೂಪಿಸಿ ಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಶುಭ ಹಾರೈಸೋಣ ಅವರಿಗೆ. ಮೊಬೈಲ್ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ : 9019635014
